Description

Raynaud's disease is a chronic impairment of peripheral blood circulation in the form of attacks of vasospasm due to increased excitability of the nervous system.
The main pathogenetic mechanisms of Raynaud's disease are the increased activity of the vasomotor centers and the local defect in the muscular wall of the vessel. Normally, the reflex response to the effects of cold at the level of small vessels is to reduce their lumen (reduce the muscle fibers of the vessel), in order to reduce the amount of incoming blood in the integument of the body and thereby reduce heat loss. Thus, the bulk of the blood is sent to the core of the body, and the body is able to maintain a constant temperature for a long time under any unfavorable environmental conditions. The vegetative reaction to emotional stress is also reflexive and similar in mechanism to the reaction to a decrease in the ambient temperature
