Parasites belong to the flukes and are found mainly in the intestine. They sometimes cause the death of young birds. The causative agents are various types of flukes of the echinostomatidae family. A typical representative of this family of parasites is the echinostoma of the revolution. Her body is dvena 6,5-12,0 mm and a width of 0,8-2,0 mm. Around the oral sucker is a collar with 37 powerful spines, with which the parasite attaches to the mucosa of the host's intestine. The oral sucker passes into a short pharynx, a long esophagus, and from it two intestines, blindly terminating in the posterior part of the body, depart. In the anterior third of the body is the abdominal sucker, and in the posterior - the uterus, the ovaries and, finally, the testes (Figure 64). Sexually mature parasite is in the intestine. He selects eggs in which miracidia develop. The latter penetrate into the body of freshwater mollusks belonging to the genus limnea, galba, planorbis, etc. Larval stages of echinostomatids can also develop in the body of tadpoles and frogs.
