Program search — Cytochalasin HC
Name | Cytochalasin HC |
Description | Cytochalasin (from cyto and Greek chálasis - relaxation), a group of related antibiotics produced by various imperfect fungi. Allocated in 1967 by British researchers (SB Carter and co-workers). The existence of C., A, B, C, D, E and F differing in the side groups R1 and R2 is established. C. are crystalline compounds with a molecular weight from 477 to 507 and a melting point of 182 to 270°C; insoluble in water, readily soluble in organic solvents. In low concentrations (1 μg/ml), the formation of the intracellular septum is delayed after the end of chromosome divergence during cell division - mitosis, which leads to the formation of multinucleate cells. At a concentration of 10 μg/ml, the nucleus exits the cell from the cell - enucleation. Capable of stopping endocytosis in macrophages. The action of C. is reversible: when they are removed, endocytosis is restored: the nucleus that emerges from the cell but does not lose contact with it through the cytoplasmic bridge, enters back into the cell. It is believed that C. act on the elements of the contractile system of the cell - microfilaments. Used for cytophysiological studies |
