The decisive role of gardnerella vaginalis in the development of bacterial vaginosis was also refuted by the clinicians, since the gardnerella is often not detected in women with symptoms of this disease, even with a pronounced deficiency of the normal lactoflora of the vagina. But usually with bacterial vaginosis in the microflora of the vagina is present Mobiluncus spp. and Atopobium vaginae, which are not detected on a healthy vaginal mucosa, which is the decisive factor in the diagnosis. Gardnerella is transmitted sexually, this is the main way of infection with gardnerellez, and oral-genital and anal-genital contacts do not save from transferring the bacteria to the partner. It is also possible to contact the household way of infection (when using contaminated linen, hygiene items). From the mother to the fetus, the gardnerella is also transmitted, but it does not develop in the baby's microflora, since glycogen is needed for the nutrition of the gardnerella, which is too small in girls, since there is little estrogen before puberty |
