Program search — Anosmia (loss of smell)
Name | Anosmia (loss of smell) |
Description | The term "anosmia" refers to the loss of smell. In most cases, there is no sense of smell. However, most often there is an elective form of the disease, in which a person ceases to smell certain substances. A person perceives odors through receptors located in the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity. Receptors transmit a signal to the olfactory nerve, which acts as a conductor between the nasal cavity and the brain. In the brain, the signal is analyzed and transformed into a certain fragrance that a person feels. The violation of the perception of taste is called agevese. The taste receptors are located on the surface of the tongue. When ingested, the receptors send a signal to the central nervous system that transmits it to the brain |
